ABOUT COMPANY PRESIDENT
After 15 years in university and independent education, serving in multiple roles from teacher and coach to associate college counselor, department chair, director of major and planned gifts, and director of institutional advancement, Kevin J. Ruth, Ph.D., saw the 2008/09 recession as an opportunity to transform his extant development services company into one that focused exclusively on endowment growth, helping independent schools attain financial sustainability. As an NAIS Fellow in 2008, Kevin initiated and directed a fellowship project on strategic endowment growth, connecting with endowment managers, heads of school, and trustees. His application of these strategies at his last school resulted in a 60% increase of dollars to the endowment in only one year.
His forthcoming book, Endowment Matters at Independent Schools, outlines the role of endowment, including philosophies and strategies, at independent boarding and day schools in a post-2008 world. The anticipated release date is December 30, 2010.
Kevin is a trustee at Nansemond-Suffolk Academy, an independent day school serving students from pre-school to grade twelve in Suffolk, Virginia.
